Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 October 2026
Your trust matters to me, especially on a cancer website. This page explains which personal data I
collect, why, and what you can do about it. I keep it to the minimum.
Who is responsible for your data
Annie Vanhee, a private individual living in Belgium, is responsible (the "controller") for the
personal data collected on this website.
Contact: annie@cancerbeyondthediagnosis.com
What I collect and why
When you subscribe to my emails or download the free First 48 Hours guide, I collect your email
address and, if you give it, your first name. I use them to send you the guide and my emails, based
on your consent. I keep them until you unsubscribe.
When you use the contact form or email me, I receive your name, email address and message. I use
them only to answer you, which is my legitimate interest in replying. I keep them for up to two
years after our last contact.
When you buy a guide through Gumroad, I receive your name, email address, the product, the date
and the amount. I never see your card details. I use this information to deliver your purchase and
keep my records, as needed for the purchase and to meet legal obligations. I keep it as long as the
law requires.
I never sell your data, and I do not use it for advertising.
About health information
You never need to tell me anything about your health to use this website. If you choose to share
personal or medical details in a message, I use them only to reply to you and I delete them when
they are no longer needed.
Who helps me run this website?
I use a few trusted services that process data on my behalf:
• Hostinger, which hosts this website and the contact form
• MailerLite, which sends my emails and the free guide
• Gumroad, which handles every purchase as the legal seller. Gumroad processes your
payment under its own privacy policy.
Some of these services may store data outside the European Union, for example in the United
States. In that case, they protect it with safeguards recognized by EU law, such as the EU Standard
Contractual Clauses.
CookiesThis website currently uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work. These do not track
you and do not need your consent. If I add analytics in the future, I will ask for your consent first
and update this page.
Your rights
You can ask me at any time to:
• see the personal data I hold about you
• correct it
• delete it
• limit or object to how I use it
• receive it in a format you can take elsewhere
You can withdraw your consent for my emails at any time through the unsubscribe link at the
bottom of every email, or by writing to me.
To use any of these rights, email annie@cancerbeyondthediagnosis.com. I will answer within one
month.
If you feel I have not handled your data properly, you can file a complaint with the Belgian Data
Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels,
www.dataprotectionauthority.be.

This website is meant for adults. I do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
